Here is a 60fps retake of the Prestige Car Wash in Watertown MA! The last time I went here was in November of 2019, and those videos were not that great so I decided to come back and do a better take!

Formally a Randy’s location, prestige acquired this car wash in mid-2019. When it was Randy’s, it had 4 self service bays and a run down tunnel wash. The tunnel had all vintage Hanna Sherman equipment, until 2016, when the dryers and conveyor were replaced with Sonny’s units. One of the original floor mounted Concorde dryers remained from the old set up however, and that one still remains to this day.

As you all know, Prestige acquired this location and the one in Waltham in mid 2019, leaving Randy’s down to only 2 locations. The medford and Melrose sites remained original until early 2020, when prestige finally acquired them and by then, Prestige bought the entire Randy’s chain. The old owners must’ve wanted to retire and instead of closing every single location, they sold them to a chain so they can refurbish them and keep them open.

All 4 locations received major renovations done to them. All of them had Hanna Sherman equipment, but had their mitters replaced with Econocraft units. New LED lights and arches were also installed, along with a few new dryers. Chemicals were switched to ZEP, including the Extreme Shine Wax and Ceramic Seal. The old Hanna Sherman wraps still remain from the original set up.

This location had the same renovation, but 2 of the self service bays were converted into touch free IBA systems! They are Belanger Sabers with On-board dryers. The last time I went through them, they were awful, so I went through them again after the tunnel to see if they improved.

Wash Quality: amazing! The wash did a great job once again and I was very impressed with the results. $30 is quite expensive for a exterior wash, but the light show and Ceramic Seal justify the price a bit.
