Fitting a Ducati 1000/1100 DS crankshaft to an ST2, M900 or 900SSie

Stroking an ST2 from 68mm to 71.5mm using a 1000DS crank to increase the capacity to 992cc, same as a 1000DS engine. Specifically for the 3 phase alternator engines that were M900 and 900SSie model year 1998 and ST2 model year 1999 running 94mm bore.

Keep in mind the M900 and 900SSie are 92mm bore std, so you need bored and plated cylinders, modified ST2 cylinders or you could possibly keep it 92mm bore and modify the original pistons. Or have some new ones made. It's only money.

Including the following details and rambling thereof:

Mods required to the crankcases to give the crank clearance.
Checking piston crown volume to work out compression ratio (and how to get it wrong).
How to machine pistons to lower the compression.
Dyno results, fuelling and spark map changes.
How you would do it to a single phase alternator (pre 1998 model year) engine.
Whether or not the water cooled heads are stiff enough to not warp with the increased cylinder pressure.
