Amazing Trainz Race: Union Pacific Big Boy Vs. SECR N Class

Описание к видео Amazing Trainz Race: Union Pacific Big Boy Vs. SECR N Class

Now I’ve wanted to add Big Boy to the series for a while but couldn’t find a decent locomotive to race it against. However, I decided to try my luck with the SECR N Class and I’m pleased with the results.

A little bit of history on Big Boy. Twenty-five Big Boys were built for the Union Pacific Railroad from 1941-1944 and out of all 25, only 8 survive into modern day society. The Big Boys were meant for hauling heavy freight and could produce up to 6,290 horsepower! The Big Boys were built with a wheel arrangement of 4-8-8-4 and were originally supposed to be called the Wasatch class but an anonymous worker scrawled the name “Big Boy” on the boiler of one of the locomotives and the name stuck ever since. One of the Big Boys, 4014, to be exact, was restored to operating conditions in 2019 and has operated on the Union Pacific Railroad since.

As for the SECR N Class, I don’t know much about them other than the fact that they are 2-6-0 Mogul type steam locomotives built in Britain.

But I hope you all enjoy this video nonetheless, as it’s slightly longer than average. And as always, thank you for taking the time to watch my videos!

Side Note: I’d like to let you know that the top speed that Big Boy hits in this video is NOT realistic at all! The Big Boys were capable of no more than 87 MPH AT MOST in real life and haven’t exceeded that speed.
