Competitors taking part in the Flora MacDonald's Fancy open Highland Dance during the 2019 Braemar Gathering Highland Games in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
This is danced in honour of Flora MacDonald, who helped Bonnie Prince Charlie escape to the Isle of Skye on his way to France in 1746, after his defeat at the Battle of Culloden. Such heroism won her the admiration of the Scottish people who honoured her in this dance.
