GERB wins in Bulgaria: another early election just around the corner | How We Got Here

"Bulgaria...another day, another election. Have the results prolonged or solved Bulgaria’s economic impasse. And of course ...who is meddling in these elections?

Are Bulgarian politics in some sort of downward spiral?

As many as 22 parties forming 9 coalitions entered the electoral fray on Sunday. The center-right GERB party enjoyed the largest level of support at a little over 26%. Regardless, the party fell short of a majority that would put an end to the country’s political instability. Coming in second was the centrist, anti-corruption We Continue the Change with almost 15%, while the pro-Russia ultra-nationalist Revival party got close to 14% of the vote.

On the other hand, Bulgaria remains a crucial manufacturer of Soviet-standard ammunition used by Ukraine’s army in its fight against Russian aggression.
