In the spirit of the Easter season, we are once again reminded that God has a plan for all of us. From the mighty to the minute, we each have an ordained mission that reaches beyond ourselves and extends to one another. We are meant to extend love, service, friendship, hope, and peace to one another. In God's hands, we can together bring light into the darkness, hope into despair, and peace into strife. We can all be "instruments of peace."
During Riverview Rehabilitation & Health Care Center's Good Friday service, we were blessed to have special music by Advent Capelle and a touching service led by Pastor Susie O'Connell of Flandreau's Methodist Church. We hope you enjoy this beautiful vocal rendition of the Peace Prayer of St. Francis:
"Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
when there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
Grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood, as to understand,
to be loved as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying [to ourselves] that we are born to eternal life."
May you and yours enjoy a blessed Easter season.
