What is Ashtanga yoga?⁠

🌙 Ashtanga yoga is a dynamic method of yoga that originated in Mysore, India. ⁠
⁠
🌿 There are 6 series of postures that vary in difficulty & benefit. Postures are taught one at a time in Mysore-style classes. Students learn a new posture once they have built strength, flexibility & stamina in the previous posture.⁠
⁠
🧘‍♀️ The practice focuses on synchronizing breath with movement (vinyāsa) with the ultimate goal of calming the mind.⁠
