Unlocking The Mecha-Chocobo as part of the Can't Stop Wont Stop quest

This quest can only be unlocked after completing all other quests and reaching the end of Chapter 12 (just before meeting with Cid in Costa Del Sol)

Chocobo Racing is a minigame unlocked via the story when you reach the Golden Saucer. The aim of the races is to come first in the race (and thus receive all possible rewards).

Before each race you can customise your chocobo (ie. which chocobo from the ones you have that you use) as well as what your chocobo wears. The equipment that the chocobo wears will add stats to the chosen chocobo (depending on the type of equipment) as well as provide an extra bonus unique to that particular gear.

Each map will have its own course structure and gimmicks so each race will feel different.

To come first you want to successfully utilise the following power ups scattered across the course:
Blue: Increases speed (Max 10). If you get hit you lose a stack of speed.
Yellow: Provides a stack of Dash (Max 2) that causes an immense increase in speed for a short duration
Red: Helps fill up the ability bar. The ability of your chocobo varies depending on the chocobo as well as if they wear certain gear, namely the Merc hat which switches your ability for another.

The race ends when you complete the stated number of laps around the course
