Solo Hiking the Zugspitze | Highest Mountain in the German Alps (2962m)

At the end of July 2024, I climbed the Zugspitze, the highest mountain in Germany at 2962m. It was a beautiful but also challenging hike doing over 2400m of climbing in 24 hours. I had the perfect weather, incredible views and spent a cozy night in a mountain hut before reaching the summit after navigating the notorious field of scree and some scrambling over the ridge….

🧭 Route:
Garmisch-Partenkirchen - Partnachklamm - Knorrhütte via Reintal (12mi/19,3km | ascent: 1470m)
Knorrhütte - Zugspitzplatt - Zugspitze (2.5mi/4km | ascent: 950m)
