Tackling this mockup proved to be quite a challenge. I love Gordy Haab's complex yet approachable writing style for the Halo-Franchise. Just like John Powell said, the aim is to keep the music sounding fresh while progressing in an organic way, which Gordy Haab excels at. Also this short excerpt is a masterclass in thematic work and minimalism, since Gordy Haab manages to make one idea sound interesting even though he seems to "only" modulate it in a masterful way!
