When everyone thinks about Mercedes, they instantly think about Lewis Hamilton and the 6 world championships he has won in the team. Back in 2013, many people called him stupid for leaving McLaren to join Mercedes saying that he ruined his chances of winning any more world championships. However, as we all know now, this was one of the best decisions anyone has ever made in the history of Formula 1 in 2014, the new regulations meant that Mercedes dominated the grid for 8 years winning every single constructors championship until 2022. For many, it seemed like Hamilton and Mercedes would continue winning forever but Max Verstappen and Red Bull put a stop to that and in 2022 they would win both championships making it the first time since 2013 that Mercedes did not take home any championship. 2022 was a very tough year for Mercedes as the new regulations would catch them out and they would fall back to P3 in the championship and only win 1 race all season with George Russell. Many thought that Mercedes would bounce back in 2023 and win the championship after learning from their mistakes but it does already look like that will not happen. Hamilton is only getting older and he has said on several occasions that he wants to win his eighth world championship then he will retire but will it be with Mercedes? In today’s video, we will discuss why Hamilton may be unhappy with Mercedes as we dive into him being unhappy with the car, how his contract is running out soon and that the mechanics were not at the podium in Australia, let’s get right into it!
