A shocking incident unfolded in Pandurang Nagar, Attapur, Hyderabad, late Tuesday night when an unknown man attempted to vandalize the idol at Pochamma Temple. The perpetrator entered the temple premises by climbing the wall and tried to damage the deity’s idol, removing its attire, mangalsutra, and staff. Alerted by the noise, the temple priest intervened in time and stopped the suspect, preventing a major mishap. Local residents then restrained him and recovered the mangalsutra from his possession before informing the police. The Attapur police arrived promptly and took the suspect into custody. Authorities are investigating whether the act was intentional or due to the suspect’s mental instability. A case has been registered, and police have assured strict measures to prevent any further untoward incidents in the temple area.
