This tutorial will show you how to use the Type Tool to add horizontal or vertical text in Adobe After Effects CC 2023.

Keyboard Shortcuts:Cmd/Ctrl + T: Add Text

Different Ways To Add Text:Click on the T for Text Tool (double-click to center in Comp)
Use the Keyboard Shortcut Cmd/Ctrl + T
Go to the Layers Menu and Select New…Text
Right-click anywhere and select New…Text

How To Add Text in Adobe After Effects CC 2023:
1. Create a new Composition (Cmd/Ctrl + N)
2. Click on the Type Tool or use the keyboard shortcut Cmd/Ctrl + T
3. Click on the Composition Window
4. Start typing to add text
5. Use the Character Panel to change font, size, color.

How To Center Text in Composition
1. Double-Click on the Type Tool
2. Cursor will be automatically placed in the center of composition
3. Start typing to add text
4. Use the Character Panel to change font, size, color.

How To Add Paragraph Text:
1. Click on the Type Tool or use the keyboard shortcut Cmd/Ctrl + T
2. Click on the Composition Window
3. Drag out a Text Box
4. Start Typing and text will be confined inside text box

How To Animate Text:
1. Click on the Type Tool or use the keyboard shortcut Cmd/Ctrl + T
2. Click on the Composition Window
3. Start typing to add text
4. Select Text Layer
5. Go to Effects & Presets
6. Twirl open ‘Animation Presets’
7. Twirl open ‘Text’
8. Find an effect such as ‘Fly in with a Twist’
9. Double-click or drag it on to text layer
10. Press Spacebar to Preview
