(20 Dec 2018) Three astronautus left for Earth on Wednesday, after spending almost 200 days onboard the International Space Station as part of "Expedition 57."
  
The Soyuz MS-09 spacecraft undocked from the Space Station with NASA Flight Engineer Serena Aunon-Chancellor, German astronaut Alexander Gerst and Soyuz commander Sergey Prokopyev onboard.
NASA TV reported that Prokopyev experienced a minor issue with his communications cable, preventing him from communicating with ground crew during the descent.
The issue forced Expedition 57 commander Gerst to look after communications onboard the spacecraft.
  
The Soyuz aircraft is scheduled to touchdown in the remote Kazakhstani town of Dzhezkazgan early Thursday.
  
The crew completed a 197-day mission, circling the globe 3,152 times, conducting science and maintenance aboard the space station.
