High Falls State Park: the BEST waterfalls of Middle Georgia

We personally think this is one of our favorite Georgia State Parks. We've stayed at and we've stayed at a few. We still love Cloudland and I know we've yet to stay at Vogel State Park or Tallulah gorge state park but we absolutely fell in love with this park here hiking the high Falls river trail was one of the best hikes we've had in a long time. seeing the old grist Mill ruins and the old one lane one car bridge remains were also really neat. We had such a good time with our friends Rick Carmen, and their son Felix, playing baseball in that huge open field next to our campsite which was campsite 48 and we absolutely love that site and would love to have that site again, but we did check out the rest the campground and really there's a lot of really good sites here on the river side. It's more big rig friendly the lakeside campground there's a few sites that you could get a big rig in, but I would suggest smaller rigs there.


We could not have asked for more perfect weather high in the low 70s Lowe's in the high 50s. It was absolutely what we needed after a long, hot summer here in Florida. We will definitely be back to High Falls State Park.
