Horsa Glider repair.

The Horsa Glider at over 80 years old needs considerable amounts of repair work. Bernie Vincent one of the restoration team volunteers at the de Havilland Aircraft Museum shows and explains the craft techniques and tools required to complete some of the work, ably assisted by Terry and Martin. This restoration video was shot over several weeks and is the third of our restoration films which is being published to coincide with the 80th anniversary of Operation Market Garden in which hundreds of Horsa gliders participated. The Airspeed Horsa glider we have is the most complete original example in the UK and the wood craft techniques demonstrated by Bernie he hopes will inspire others to learn the artisan skills needed to continue the story.
