Coach Todd of http://nolimitstriathlon.com shows how to pack your triathlon bike using the Thule transition bike case.

You will need:
Tape - masking and duct tape
Zip Ties
Bubble wrap or other type of protective wrap
Pedal wrench
Multi tool or allen key (wrenches)

Here are the steps I follow:
1) assemble bike stand
2) remove front wheel and skewer
3) put bike on stand and secure with fork mount and bottom bracket strap
4) Remove seat post and saddle and seat post clamp (if yours comes off) ** use tape on post to know how seat height when putting bike back together **
5) shift bike to smallest cog on back wheel
6) remove pedals (turn to rear to remove)
7) remove rear wheel
8) remove rear derailleur (if desired). I find with this case you do not need to
9) loosen stem bolts and remove stem cap
10) wrap chain stay with bubble wrap
11) zip tie chain together
12) wrap front end of bike with bubble wrap
13) take off handlebars and attach to frame with duct tape or zip ties
14) remember to note how many spacers are above or below your stem so when you reassemble you are at the correct height
15) tighten the stem bolts and re tighten stem cap
16) wrap saddle and seat post
17) attach to frame with zip ties
18) add repair bag to frame using water bottle cages
19) wrap pedals and add to other cage or inside wheel bag pocket
20) disassemble stand
21) pack bike in case
22) add wheels to bike bags (with skewers in pocket) add to case
remember to remove air from the tires
23) put top of case on box. Secure box and happy traveling! :)
