Murakumo (also known as "Living God" and formerly known as "Akatsuki Zero") is the final boss of the game. During the previous war, he was a military officer stationed in Germany, who planned actions for an inspection group on military affairs, being both the former superior of Akatsuki and an ally of Fritz. In this position, he got in touch with Mycale and her Templar Knights, including Adler from Ahnenerbe, and then established the Military Technique Research facility, nicknamed "Gesellschaft", as well as discovering the place known as "Agartha" and created the Blitz Motor. True by his rank, he was the original Akatsuki before the main protagonist himself and was responsible for trapping Akatsuki in ice, but failed as Akatsuki survived and was awakened fifty years later. And the same goes for Mycale as he betrayed her in order to rule over the Gesellschaft, but (much like Akatsuki) Mycale survived by possessing a little girl named: Kati.

Despite his original body being killed by Akatsuki, he revealed that his clones could be used as vessels to keep him alive, namely Senke Misa (his current host, and Kanae's superior), and In Fu (Black Hand's late-leader who was killed by Marylin, sent by Mycale). While in Senke’s body at the time, Mycale became the Gesellschaft’s new leader and declared war on humanity while Murakumo remained alive, continuing to manipulate government systems while at the same time, trying to get his throne back.
