In a recent video, WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman, explained why he stripped Terence Crawford of the WBC Super Middleweight Title. Crawford beat Canelo on Mexican Independence Day for the WBC, IBF, WBO, WBA, and Ring Magazine titles back in September in Las Vegas.

Mauricio says he stripped Crawford because he did not adhere to the rules and pay the WBC's 3% sanctioning fee. Mauricio is mad that Crawford moved up and beat Canelo in front of El Chapo, and all of the Mexican Drug Cartel.

Then, Crawford had the nerve not to pay the Mexican mafia's leader, better known as Mauricio Sulaiman, 3% of his 50 million dollar purse. Sulainman then goes on to say that he did not want 3% of Crawford's 50 million dollar purse, which would have been $1,500,000.

Mauricio only wanted 0.6% of Crawford's 50 million dollar purse. Which is $300,000. Now it makes sense. Sulaiman then goes on to make an emotional plea as to why fighters need to pay the WBC's sanctioning fee, because he wants to help retired fighters of the past.

Sulaiman says it's regrettable that he allowed the Canelo vs Crawford fight to happen in so many words, because Crawford didn't pay the Mafia their percentage like Canelo pays.

My thing is this: it's your belt. If the WBC wants to take their belt, take it. If Crawford doesn't want to pay the WBC mafia 3% of his purse, don't pay them.

The damage is done, and history was made. Canelo got his a** beaten by a welterweight in front of the world to see. Crawford is in the history books.

Crawford is one of the few modern fighters to become a 5-weight division world champion. The first boxer to become 3 three-division undisputed champion in the 4-belt era.

4x lineal champion, and he's considered the number 1 p4p champion of the world by Ring Magazine and his peers. His legacy is etched in stone, and the cement is dry.
