The SmokeFree active regeneration DPF systems are certified/approved by Korea MoE - Ministry of Environment - and China MoE as well.
The system consists of pre-catalyst and SiC filter with fuel injection device and FBC -Fuel Borne Catalyst dosing control. The ECU continuously measures the amount of collected PM and determines when it is time to regenerate the filter. Regeneration initiates by injecting diesel fuel in front of the pre-catalyst. A catalytic combustion in a pre-catalyst oxidizes the injected and evaporated diesel fuel and heat up the exhaust gas up to 450. The whole regeneration process only takes 5 to 8 minutes depending on the soot accumulation to complete.

Fuel Borne Catalyst-FBC-
The filter utilize the Fe based fuel borne catalyst-FBC- which is injected into the fuel tank via fuel return line. The FBC lowers temperature at which soot combust and not only aids the regeneration but also reduces fuel consumption.
