Narona on the Danube Trail of Croatia

Описание к видео Narona on the Danube Trail of Croatia

Narona was one of the most important ancient towns on the Eastern coast of the Adriatic Sea, since the valley of the Neretva was a natural route connecting the interior of the province of Dalmatia with the rest of the Mediterranean. Town developed and prospered enormously during the rule of Roman emperor Augusts, which is clearly seen in the remains of Augusteum – a temple erected in his honour and in the sensational and numerous collection of imperial statues found here. So, make sure to visit Archaeological Museum Narona on Roman Emperors and Danube Wine Route!

The Roman Emperors and Danube Wine Route, with its Danube and Illyricum Trails, extends through eight European countries – Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Albania, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is a network of sub-destinations, created around individual archaeological sites, locations, places and buildings, which are monuments to the leadership of the Roman emperors in Late Antiquity. The Route was certified as a European Cultural Route by the European Institute for Cultural Routes (EICR).
