Inside the box, you’ll find the CY8C- PROTO-040T PSoC 4000T prototyping board featuring the PSoC 4000T capacitive sensing microcontroller, which is based on an Arm Cortex M0+ and incorporates fifth generation CAPSENSE technology for 10 times lower power consumption and 10 times greater signal to noise ratio performance. The kit features a CAPSENSE slider, buttons, and proximity sensor for easily testing the performance of the PSoC 4000T and CAPSENSE technology.

In this demo, we’ll run the preprogrammed code example that uses the self-capacitance-based button and slider to implement the multi-sense CAPSENSE low-power technology.
First, confirm a jumper is on pin1 and pin2 on the J6 header.
Next, connect an ammeter to J2.
Move the SW2 switch to the I2C position.
Connect the board to your PC with a USB cable at J1 and observe LED1 and LED4 turn on.

Now, touch the CSB1 button to turn on LED2, and swipe the capacitive slider to adjust the LED3 brightness while measuring the CAPSENSE technology’s low power consumption.
