The long running exhibition The Secret Life Of The Home curated by Tim Hunkin closed on Sunday 2nd June 2024 after an amazing 29 years. As I was in London recently, I managed to get to the Science Museum for one last look at the exhibit. I spent a long time there taking photos and videos and this is the first part of a series starting with my favourite subject, vacuum cleaners.

There will be more videos to come on this wonderful exhibition that was very busy when I visited, so it's a shame that the Science Museum has decided to close it. It could have done with a bit of a revamp and most of the interactive displays were't working, but I feel there is still a lot of interest in the secret life of the home to see the history of the many gadgets and appliances we take for granted.
