What's Next SF: Fire Boat Station 35

The City of San Francisco is constructing a new floating Fireboat Station No. 35 at Pier 22 1/2 behind historic Fire House 35. The existing two piers are inadequate to meet the San Francisco Fire Department's public service and water rescue needs. The new Fireboat Station is being built on top of a steel float and anchored by six guide piles, which will allow it to rise and fall with the tide and projected up to six feet of Sea Level Rise. San Francisco Fire Department's three fireboats and rescue watercraft will be moored at the new floating facility. The new floating station will be situated adjacent to the existing historic fire station and will be connected by vehicular and pedestrian ramps.
