This is Part 8 of my Beginner's Guide for Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup (DCSS) in 2020 on v.24 for Minotaur Fighter (MiFi). This Tutorial/Guide will help you ease into DCSS with a Minotaur Fighter.

In this episode, we make some MAJOR progress in EXTENDED. Extended is what DCSS folk call going for more than the 3 required RUNES OF ZOT to win the game. It's the insanity of making one of the hardest (and permadeath) games even harder. NUTS. Here, we get the ABYSSAL RUNE OF ZOT by going voluntarily into the ABYSS. We have to go down to level 3 and it takes us a long, long time of searching, but we find the RUNE and escape! If you've never seen the ABYSS, watch this video to learn about it. You may have seen it accidentally by being banished there by an enemy :( Get some tips on how to survive, what the ABYSS is all about, and how to go for the ABYSSAL RUNE, if you are daring. Additionally, we start off by killing THE ROYAL JELLY (TRJ) and getting that SLIMY RUNE OF ZOT. This puts us at 5 RUNES. We then go into THE REALM OF ZOT and clear all the way up to a little before the ORB to make the final steps easier. Finally, we get our FIRE RES to 3/3 and go into HELL. We clear out the VESTIBLE OF HELL and start working on one of the 4 HELL brances, the CITY OF DIS, where we clear through level 3.

Come on in, see the most dangerous branches and enemies in the game as we nearly die, again! ;)
