This COP27 side-event event convened stakeholders from across the minigrid space in Africa for a rich discussion on the minigrid opportunity. It also formally launched the Africa Minigrids Program, a multi-partner initiative funded by the Global Environment Facility and led by UNDP in partnership with RMI and the African Development Bank that aims to enable scaled-up private investments in solar battery minigrids in 21 countries.
