Oak Leaves: An Introduction

A visual introduction to the two main families of oaks in the eastern United States.

Eastern red oak leaves come to a point and have a half dozen or more lobes on each leaf.

Eastern white oak leaves are much more rounded in their lobes and have smaller lobes. The bark of a white oak is lighter.
