First, let’s discuss what is Google Merchant Center and how does it work?

Google Merchant Center is a Google platform for all information about your products. Everything about your inventory, retail locations, promotions, and product reviews are handled here. Your Google Shopping Ads can’t run without a Google Merchant Center account or this information. And when there are issues with that information - and there often are at the start - this is where you come to diagnose and fix the problems.

Google Merchant Center is like the ultimate gatekeeper for your Google Shopping Ads. You can't run your Google Shopping Ads unless your products are all approved in Google Merchant Center, along with your business details too.

Now here are the steps for Google Merchant Center account setup:

1. Go to merchants.google.com and click the Get Started button.
2. Enter your business information.
3. Then put in your country and time zone.
4. Select the option for checking on your website.
5. Then, choose between Shopify and PayPal.
6. And finally, accept the terms and conditions.

And that’s how to create a Google Merchant Center account. Knowing all this information is going to better prepare you for setting up and optimizing your product feed and shopping campaigns to make more sales for your store.
