This video explains how to replace an old battery on a robot vacuum cleaner. The process usually only requires the use of a Philips screwdriver and can be completed within a matter of minutes.
First make sure to power off the robot vacuum cleaner by pressing and holding the power button.
Next we turn the unit upside down and look for a small cover, which us usually held in place by one or two screws.
In case the brushes an in the way to access the cover, remove the brushes by simply pulling them off.
Now remove the screw(s) and remove the cover. We should see the battery block, which we can carefully pull out. Remember that the battery is still attached by a couple of wires to the robot vacuum, so we cannot remove the battery all the way yet.
Try to gently pull on the wires until you can see the connector, which connects the battery to the wiring harness of the robot vacuum. Detach the battery.
Check the model number and compare the properties of the old battery with the new battery and make sure they match.
Install the new battery by connecting it to the harness and place the battery into the compartment. Ensure that the wires do not interfere with the battery, preventing it sit properly in the compartment.
Place the plastic cover back onto the battery, making sure it closes without having to apply force. Use the screws to close the cover.
Now we can flip the robot vacuum back around and press the power button. The unit should turn back on. Next place the vacuum on the charger, so the battery can get a full charge.
