The point of break-even is when the income and the costs are equal. this means that at break-even, the profit is zero.

this concept of break even is used by companies to identify the number of products they need to sell in order for them to regain their costs and start to gain profit.

The topic of break even analysis may be confusing to students as is almost all topics in Engineering Economy, but this topic can be understood clearly and easily so long as we start with the basic principles - as we have done in this tutorial.
