Average 30 year fixed mortgage rates have fallen AGAIN, this time down to 6.87%, after todays Fed meeting, where we found out that rates will be staying steady for the time being. We also received this installments Fed Dot Plot, which continues to show a mixed bag of expectations.
We’ve seen some nice drops after our cool inflation report last week, where inflation readings were better than expected. While this is great news,
We continue to be in a “wait and see” period on rates, as we wait for a more defined economic track to reveal itself. With where rates are sitting right now, this has been around the norm for the past couple months. Many economists still predict a rate cut in 2025, but its looking less and less likely that we will see this cut come in June. Projections are optimistic for more cuts in 2026, and perhaps rates getting back into the 5’s, on average.
