The National Medical Commission (NMC) has released a list of over 1200 medical colleges along with the number of approved MBBS and PG seats each institution holds. The proactive measure was prompted by a recent scam involving fake approval letters for various medical colleges. The NMC-issued listing includes in-depth details about the approved Medical Colleges for the academic year 2023-24. The document contains the name of the college, state, course, application type, and the number of approved undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) seats as sanctioned by the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB). The list can be accessed via the official NMC website - nmc.org.in.
