Usually the alumina content is above 48%, with high refractoriness (up to 1750℃), high refractoriness under load, strong thermal shock resistance and slag erosion resistance. Its production process includes raw material calcination, crushing, batching, molding, drying and high-temperature sintering, and is divided into different grades according to the aluminum content (such as primary, secondary and tertiary high-alumina bricks).

High-alumina bricks are widely used in kiln linings in steel, cement, glass, chemical and other industries, such as blast furnaces, hot blast furnaces, electric furnace tops, rotary kiln firing zones and other key parts. Its excellent performance comes from the corundum phase (α-Al₂O₃) and mullite phase (3Al₂O₃·2SiO₂) in high-alumina bauxite, which has a dense structure and strong stability. When using, it is necessary to select products with appropriate aluminum content and additives according to the working conditions to balance cost and performance. In recent years, the introduction of nanotechnology or composite additives has further improved its anti-stripping and service life.
