Zhangjiajie Yang Opera originated in the middle of Qing Dynasty, has a history of more than 300 years, belongs to the North road Yang opera. The singing characteristic is the singing method of "golden thread hanging gourd", that is, the combination of real falsetto in singing, singing with real voice, drawling with falsetto turn up the octave. On May 23, 2011, Zhangjiajie Yangxi was approved by The State Council of the People's Republic of China to be included in the third batch of national intangible cultural heritage list, number Ⅳ-157.
