San Javier indigenous violin concert. April 2024. These young musicians and their teachers would not be out of place in any of the world’s best orchestras. Living and studying in and around San Javier, Santa Cruz, Bolivia, they are indigenous Chiquitano performing with instruments made locally by master carpenters and singing in their original Besiro 2000-year-old language. It was a privilege to have seen this first hand and I would highly recommend attending next year or whenever you can.
