Sampranikodi is the southernmost tip of Prakkulam in Thrikaruwa Gram Panchayat of Kollam District. Central and state governments centered on this cape in Ashtamudi Lake, a tourist circuit project has been launched. It is believed that it got its name because the 14th century Chinese small ship 'Chambrani' was located near the embankment. In the 19th century, at that time there were wharves for transportation and delivery of goods in concentrated places.
