The SR16 offers a wide range of sounds that can be used in a never ending range of musical styles. It offers MIDI, and has two RCA left and right outputs. It has been used by a variety of famous artists and bands in rock, dance, techno, pop, and many other genres.

I understand that the Alesis SR16 is still being manufactured to this day. It was an enormous success when it was first released in 1990.
