भारतीय पुरातत्व सर्वेक्षण के जबलपुर अंचल अधिकारी शिवकांत वाजपेयी के अनुसार, बाधवगढ़ का टाइगर रिजर्व 1100 वर्ग मीटर के क्षेत्र में फैला हुआ है। फिलहाल तलगर क्षेत्र में तलाशी अभियान जारी है, जिसमें 26 गुफाएं मिली हैं। इन गुफाओं का निर्माण चट्टानों को काटकर किया गया है। इनमें से कुछ महायान बौद्ध धर्म से जुड़े हैं। गुफाओं के साथ-साथ ब्राह्मी और अन्य भाषाओं में 24 शिलालेख मिले हैं, जिनमें मथुरा और कौशाम्बी के नामों का भी उल्लेख है.

Some of these are associated with Mahayana Buddhism. Along with the caves, 24 inscriptions have been found in Brahmi and other languages, in which the names of Mathura and Kaushambi are also mentioned.
