Lift is the upward force that allows an aircraft—or a drone—to rise into the air. It is created when air flows around the wings or propellers. The shape of the wing (air foil) makes air move faster over the top and slower underneath, causing lower pressure above and higher pressure below. This pressure difference pushes the wing upward. Lift also increases when the aircraft moves faster or when the angle of the wing to the airflow is adjusted. Without lift, flight would not be possible.
