Modulating to Closely Related Keys (Major Key Modulation Chart) - Music Composition

Each key has five closely related keys to which we can modulate. This music composition lesson explains how to find those neighbouring keys, their purpose and use of pivot chords, before showing all the options for using pivot chords in order to modulate. By the end of this video you will have seen and heard every pivot chord option that can be used to modulate from C major to F major, G major, A minor, D minor and E minor. You will also be able to apply the same options starting from any major key to the five keys neighbouring that key. Exploring all these options will empower composers and improvisers as well as providing essential information to those wanting to analyse modulations within a piece.
