I collected the footages of Shomen Irimi-Nage / 正面入身投, Front Entering Throw, performed by Morihei Ueshiba, the founder of Aikido and his apprentices including Kenji Tomiki, Kouichi Touhei, Morihiro Saito and Gozo Shioda.
In this technique, Shite evades Uke's power and moves his body out of the line of attack, attacks the Uke from the side, and throws the uke by entering. Irimi is one of the distinctive techniques of Aikido and all of the Aikido's techniques based on the movements of Irimi. Shite should not confront uke head on but should attack Uke's weak point to break Uke's balance.
Aikido is one of the martial arts developed in Japan and was founded by Morihei Ueshiba. it is said that it has roots of Daito Ryu and other Jujitsu practiced by Samurai as self defense techniques.
