피치트리리지하이스쿨(Peachtree Ridge High School) | 애틀랜타 한인타운 추천 고등학교 4탄

메트로 애틀랜타에서 한인들이 가장 많이 거주하는 지역이 귀넷 카운티의 스와니 시티입니다.
그 중에서도 가장 남쪽주변에 한인들이 밀집해 사는 이유 중 하나는 바로 한인상권인 둘루스가 가장 가깝고 다운타운 방향 또한 가장 가깝다는 이유입니다. 스와니의 가장 남쪽에 자리잡은 피치트리 리지 하이스쿨은 그러한 이유로 인해 아시아인 중. 한인이 가장 많이 다니고 분포하고 있는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
현재, 스와니 시티의 2개 학교를 정리하고 보니 풀턴에 비해 학생수가 엄청나게 많네요. 노스풀턴의 경우 대개 2000명이 넘지 않는 것에 반해 스와니 고등학교는 두개 학교 모두 3200명 선을 유지하고 있습니다.
2020년 현재. 조지아주에서는 33위. 미국내에서는 1208위의 기록으로 탑 7.00% 수준의 학교로 알려져 있으며 평점 10점 만점에 8점을 받고 있기도 합니다.
이번에 조사하며 알게 되었는데... 흑인과 히스패닉 비율이 한인 밀집지역치고는 매우 크다는 사실이었으며 그로 인한 졸업률 및 진학 수준이 조금 떨어지는 영향을 미치지 않았나 생각해 보게 하네요~
