Former Victorian Liberal Party president Michael Kroger says Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is in “a lot of trouble” as he is “sinking in every poll”.

Mr Albanese unveiled Labor’s new frontbench on Sunday, dumping Clare O’Neil and Andrew Giles from the home affairs, cyber security and immigration portfolios and replacing them with Tony Burke.

“He’s in a lot of trouble,” Mr Kroger told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.

“He’s in quicksand. He’s sinking in every poll bit by bit.”
