Walt Disney's "Spy in the Sky" Season 8 Ep 24

From Season 8 of Walt Disney's Disneyland Anthology program we have Episode 24: Spy in the Sky which originally aired on April 1st, 1962. This look at outer space begins with a preview of Moon Pilot, the Studio's next theatrical release (the actual clips from the film have been removed due to copyright, but included are plenty of behind the scenes fun!). The film tells the story of Richmond Talbot, a reluctant volunteer in America's space program, and the strange girl who tries to help him become the first man in space. The second part of the show was first released theatrically in 1959 as Eyes in Outer Space. Following an animated look at past attempts to predict the weather, the program predicts that we will someday be able to launch satellites into orbit to control the weather. Starring Tom Tryon as Capt. Richmond Talbot, Brian Keith as Maj. Gen. John Vannerman, Edmond O'Brien as McClosky, Dany Saval as Lyrae, Bob Sweeney as Senator McGuire and Kent Smith as Secretary of the Air Force.
