'Put a Woman in Charge' is the second single from ‘Sing Your Dreams’, by all-female psychedelic-rock pioneers Ace of Cups. Originally recorded by Keb' Mo' for his 2018 album Oklahoma, the Ace of Cups' version channels the outrage and urgency of the lyrics into a hard-rock feminist battle-cry — their fiercest and most pointed performance yet. The single was released on August 18th the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, which finally granted the vote to women in the United States.

The song premiere was supported by a narrative video honoring the timeline of women’s suffrage as told by a diverse group of female luminaries. More than 40 inspiring women from all walks of life participated in the video, including politicians, musicians, producers, directors, authors, and teachers. The event was originally scheduled as a summer musical celebration of female pioneers and leaders in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park, however the COVID-19 pandemic required that the gathering be re-imagined. It is offered now as a virtual message of celebration, solidarity and commitment to continuing the fight for equality and justice.
