Advanced balancing flow for tangodancers

This week we practice an amazing exercise for stability on the standing leg, strength and coordination in the free leg.

Pay special attention to the full extension of the free leg, because this will activate the m.vastus medialis, the inner part of the m.quadriceps femorus. This muscle helps with good alignment of the patella.

We are exorotating the free lifted leg, to train the coordination and to stengthen the muscles that help with exorotation in the hip joint.

Meanwhile, we maintain both hips at the same level - not lifting or dropping either side - and we keep a good alignment and strong activation in the standing leg.

You can repeat this exercise as often as you like. Play your favourite music, and enjoy! After this, you can do gentle stretches of the hip flexor muscles.
