Dubai International airport(DXB), which had 29.1 million international passengers pass through its doors in 2021, has remained the busiest airport in the world for the seventh year in a row. 

For the entire year of 2021, DXB welcomed 29,110,609 passengers, an increase of 12.7% from the previous year. The figures were boosted by a strong increase in the last three months of the year, when DXB registered 11,794,046 passengers, which was an increase of 77% over the previous quarter. Since the beginning of the pandemic, it was the busiest quarter and the first time DXB's quarterly traffic exceeded 10 million since then. With 4.5 million passengers, December was the busiest month of the entire year.
