This week was one of those you wish you could bottle up and keep forever… because we got to celebrate someone who means the absolute world to us—Carlin.

Our sweet girl turned 27, and the kids and I knew we had to go all out. We kicked things off with a surprise massage the day before, but the real magic happened the next morning. The kids were so excited—they helped blow up balloons just for Mommy. They even helped with breakfast prep! Every little detail was planned with love… and you could feel it in the air.

When Carlin came downstairs and saw everything, her face lit up—and then the tears came. Happy tears. The kind that show just how loved and appreciated someone feels in that moment. And that moment? That was everything to us.

Watching Layla and Zade get so into celebrating their mom—hugging her, dancing around saying “Happy Birthday!” a dozen times, and beaming with pride over “their” breakfast—was honestly one of the most heart-melting parts of the day. Wishing their mommy a happy birthday was the highlight of their week, too.

It was simple, but so meaningful. A morning full of love, laughter, a few happy tears, and the kind of joy that reminds us what family is all about. We’re so thankful for Carlin—for the way she holds this family together, and for the light she brings into every room. Happy 27th, babe… you deserve the world.
