On March 10, 2017, representatives of Jehovah's Witnesses in Australia were invited back to give testimony for Case Study 54 before the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.

Having already had various problems addressed in Case Study 29, the Commission was anxious to hear whether grave concerns over official policy had been acted on. Appearing before the Commission were Watchtower officials Rodney Spinks and Terrence O'Brien.
