I have found three of my apple trees which were grafted onto M26 rootstock badly affected by canker at the base - this means the tree cannot be saved and will have to be consigned to the bonfire. Another had canker about half way up the stem which meant that could be pruned back and hopefully will recover. The other trees look healthy and I hope to plant out over the winter.
I have a walk around the Micro-Orchard observing the different stages of growth and fruit set/size according to variety. The pinks are about to flower and a second cut of Comfrey has been taken. Loganberry| Thornless Blackberry|
